MCP is the standard way for AI tools to use outside services. Once connected, your assistant can look up contacts, read your conversations and send messages. Whether it asks you first depends on your AI tool. MCP server address: https://api.groovin.ai/functions/v1/mcp-server Menu names differ between apps and versions. If a label below does not match, look for the nearest one: Connectors, Integrations, MCP, Tools.

Before you start

  • An active Groovin subscription.
  • Your LinkedIn account connected in Groovin, for the LinkedIn tools.
  • An up-to-date AI app. Custom connectors on Claude and ChatGPT need a paid plan.

Pick a way to sign in

If your tool offers both, prefer the API key: it avoids sign-in pop-ups and expired sessions. To get a key, open the Groovin extension, then Settings → MCP and API, and click Create key. Copy it now: it is shown only once.

Cursor

Open your Cursor MCP config file:
  • For all projects: ~/.cursor/mcp.json
  • For one project: .cursor/mcp.json in that project
Add Groovin under mcpServers, keeping any other servers already there:
To use browser sign-in instead, leave out headers, save, then authenticate from Settings → MCP. Check that groovin shows as connected in Settings → MCP. If it does not appear, fully restart Cursor. Prefer the global file: a key in a project’s file can end up in Git by mistake.

Claude

claude.ai and Claude Desktop

These use browser sign-in: there is no place to paste an API key.
  1. Go to Settings → Connectors.
  2. Click Add custom connector.
  3. Name it Groovin, and use the MCP server address above.
  4. Save, then click Connect.
  5. In the browser, sign in with Google or Microsoft, using your Groovin account, and click Approve.
  6. Back in Claude, enable the connector.

Claude Code

Add --scope user to use it in every project, and check with claude mcp list. To use browser sign-in instead, leave out --header, then type /mcp inside Claude Code and sign in.

ChatGPT

Your plan must allow custom MCP connectors. You may need to turn on Developer mode under Connectors.
  1. Go to Settings → Connectors, and open the custom connector option.
  2. Name it Groovin, and use the MCP server address above.
  3. Choose OAuth: ChatGPT sends you to Groovin to sign in and approve.
  4. Save and enable the connector. In some setups, you enable it for each conversation.

Once connected

Try asking:
  • “Show me my last 5 LinkedIn conversations.”
  • “Look up these people in my CRM.”
  • “Which of my synced contacts did I not talk to recently?”

Your assistant acts on your real LinkedIn account and CRM. Before approving an action, check who it reaches and what it says. Do not ask it to do something across many people at once: LinkedIn limits apply. See Limits and quotas.
