Going over LinkedIn’s limits can get your LinkedIn account restricted. Groovin does not count your daily messages, invitations or profile views for you. Staying within them is up to you, and to the scripts you run.

How it works

  • Limits belong to your LinkedIn account. The API, the MCP, the extension and LinkedIn itself all use the same allowance. Two scripts on the same account share it.
  • LinkedIn watches patterns, not only totals. Regular, machine-like timing is flagged as automation.
  • Writing is riskier than reading. Invitations are the most restricted action.

LinkedIn’s limits: guidance, not enforced

These are guidelines for an active account. Groovin does not stop you when you go over them, and LinkedIn can apply stricter limits at any time. Free of LinkedIn limits: the conversation list and reading a conversation, which use Groovin’s copy of your inbox, and the connections import, which only reads your file.

How to stay safe

  • Go slowly with a new account. Start with small numbers, and increase them gradually.
  • Space your calls out, at random intervals. Never use a fixed schedule, such as every hour on the hour.
  • Spread your activity over the working day rather than sending everything at once.
  • Stop on a 429. Wait at least 5 minutes before trying again, and do not loop on it.
  • Use webhooks rather than checking every few minutes. To follow new messages and connections, let Groovin tell you.
  • Check before you repeat. A send that seemed to fail may have gone out. See Errors.

What Groovin enforces

These limits are enforced by Groovin: going over them gets you an error, or a partial answer. The LinkedIn URL finder also has its own daily limit on LinkedIn searches, of 25, 35 or 50 a day depending on your LinkedIn plan. The API has no rate limit of its own, and sends no rate-limit headers. A 429 comes from LinkedIn or from your CRM.

Results that find nothing, such as not_found or ambiguous, cost nothing.

Your CRM’s limits

Your CRM has its own API limits. When it slows Groovin down, you get a 429 or a rate_limited flag. Some CRMs also have a monthly quota: when it is used up, the error says so, and retrying will not help until it resets.
